Grade B

Allowed:
Live knots up to 20 mm, but no more than 2 per 1 linear meter (not closer than 10 mm to the edge). Black and fallen knots up to 15 mm, single (ungrouped), not more than 2 per lamella. Slight natural color and texture changes. 

Not allowed: 
Live knots larger than 20 mm. Black and fallen knots larger than 15 mm, grouped more than 2 per lamella. Heartwood and its traces. Sapwood, rot, traces from woodworm beetles, moisture stains, ingrown bark, significant color change, cracks.

Grade C

Allowed:
Live knots up to 40 mm, but no more than 3 per 1 lamella, singly (ungrouped), not closer than 10 mm to the edge. Dense black knots up to 30 mm and fallen knots up to 20 mm, but no more than 3 per 1 lamella, singly (ungrouped), not closer than 10 mm to the edge. Cracks up to 150 mm with an opening of 1-2 mm. Natural color and texture changes.

Live knots larger than 40 mm, more than 3 per lamella. Dense black knots larger than 30 mm and fallen knots larger than 20 mm, grouped and closer than 10 mm to the edge.
